Flat Roof in Beckenham
Project Overview
This project involved renewing a small flat roof in Beckenham. The existing GRP covering was removed, the roof was re-boarded using 18 mm OSB and a two-coat GRP system was applied with a solar paint finish. The surrounding slates were then reinstated to complete the roof area.
The Original Roofing Problem
The existing flat roof had a GRP covering that needed to be stripped off before the new roof covering could be installed. The surrounding slate covering also needed to be carefully reinstated after the flat roof work was complete.
The project required a clean new deck and a finished waterproof surface suited to the small flat roof area and adjoining slate details.
Work Completed by LK Roofing Group
The existing GRP covering was removed and the roof area was prepared. Replacement 18 mm OSB decking was installed to create the base for the new flat roof system.
A two-coat GRP system was applied to the new roof deck, followed by a solar paint finish. Once the GRP finish was complete, the surrounding slates were reinstated around the renewed flat roof.
- Remove existing GRP flat roof covering
- Prepare the flat roof area
- Install replacement 18 mm OSB decking
- Apply a two-coat GRP system
- Finish with solar paint
- Reinstate surrounding slate covering
The Completed Result
The completed flat roof has a finished GRP coating and the adjoining slate covering reinstated around it.
The case study records the works as completed in January in Beckenham, with photographs showing strip-out, new decking and the finished roof.
